Music on iPhone 3GS

Hello, i am new on this forum, and i was hoping someone could help me with a problem i have with my iPhone after i downloaded the new update.
After i have installed the update, my iPhone 3GS will not Play all my music. I have never had this problem earlier. I can of course Play the music i have bought from iTunes , but not for example the music i have ripped from my own cd's.

Does anyone here have a clue what i have to do, to get this right?
The exact same music i have on my iPhone , i also have on my iPad , and i have no problem there....

I have always added music by copied them from my musiclibrary on my pc. I have had my iPhone for over two years now, and it is only after the new big update this problem has appeard.
If i want to copy a song, i copy a file, and a map if There is a whole album.
Can you please specify if this was not the answer you wanted :-/

Some of my music that i have not bought, i Can Play !

It won't work on ios 5.you have to copy songs to music library in iTunes and than sync music with your iPhone!

I done stupid thing once,I copied one album right to the phone.songs were gray i couldn't play them.i synced and deleted that album and them again synced.iPhone was messed up with it,he changed artwork of it with another album,and at the end I saw in iTunes that i have that album on my phone but there was anything when i'm looking on the phone.
This was fixed after restore so try it!
