Music volume compared to iPod nano

Does anyone know how the volume of the music, played from the iPod app on the iPhone, compares to that of the iPod nano? POP email and audio volume for music are my two prime considerations, and since it appears I can get POP email, I'm only concerned now about the volume. I see lot's of folks contend that the speakerphone volume is not great, but I don't care about that for the most part. I want LOUD rock-n-roll, though, when I use the iPod app.:laugh2:

My volume works perfect and its loud and my speakerphone is also really loud so I guess I just got a perfect iPhone than god, also I can't compare it with the nano because I haven't hear music on the nano

I have an input jack that I used for my nano and now my iPhone to play through my car stereo. It is my experience that the nano is louder in my car than my iPhone.

well, I am pleased to report that the music volume is excellent - much better than my last mp3 (philipps go Gear which sux)....first time I tried the iPod feature, using the provided headphones, i nearly fell out of my chair.

That being said, I LOVE my iPhone! Way better than my blackberry 7250.

My iPhone is the same, or maybe a hair louder than my 1st Gen nano (plastic, not the 2nd gen aluminum) from the headphone jack.

My iPhone is infinitely louder than my nano from the built in speaker tho! :)

It sounds just as loud as any ipod I've ever heard.

Music sounds more clear on the nano, I even tested both using different songs and different audio formats.
Which nano (1G or 2G)?

Are you using a headphone connection or the dock connection?

I use both in my car (1st Gen plastic case nano), so have had plenty of time to test it since I've got a 120 mile daily commute, and I've have noticed that the iPhone is as good, if not slightly better over both the headphone and dock connections.
