Mysterious 12th icon on first iPhone is YouTube

I've just heard that the mysterious 12th icon is Youtube! Im a bit of a novice with phones and stuff so could you answer me this one thing: Why would Apple put Youtube on iPhone. Couldn't the user just go to the internet and go onto youtube through that?

Interesting. I just googled "12th icon youtube" and got a few places where they are making this claim. It's a very interesting idea.

Google owns Youtube. Youtube in on AppleTV. Google's CEO is on the Apple BOD. Who knows? Could be true.

Its unconfirmed but its from Gizmodo and Youtube have recently added H.246 format so it may happen.

Looks like we will have to wait though!

I think it would be a little tough to navigate YouTube on the iPhone directly on the YouTube website. If they made it into a widget they could have a bit more control over how you navigate through all that content.

Still, just doesn't feel like a WOW! feature to me. I use YouTube quite a bit but... on the iPhone? Just doesn't feel that exciting a feature.

Now if I could do VoIP on the iPhone.... (HA! ...sorry, I'll shut up now.)

I agree. It would be a nice addition but not really what I was hoping for for this mysterious 12th icon. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It'll probably be easier to surf through YouTube and view videos through some iPhone widget than the Safari browser.

It probably is you tube. steve did mention that he was making a deal with youtube to change the codec for iPhone, maybe its just a good built in feature I know i will love it
