im just happy to finally see a different wallpaper...those fish were killing me, and that goofy kid. im not a mac user, so i cant even speculate, but do you guys think the iPhone will handle animated wallpapers(for example a .gif or dare i say .fla)

I would assume that to be the welcome screen to google earth...
same as google maps, or one of the 'unexpected' additions?

google earth would be sweeet.

edit: look closer at the picture...you can see the "slide to unlock" button on the bottom right. i think it's just the wallpaper.

google earth would be bad ass. I keep seeing all these pictures and it makes me so much worse on the wait I know its not that much longer but damn its feeling like forever.
Hmm! Google Earth with the multi-touch controls. That would be pretty awesome.

Did anyone notice the finger prints on the first pic? That is a big concern for me, on long the screen will stay in good shape. Granted, the iPhone was turned off, so every smudge looks worse that way - but let's put it this way. I'm not sure if I am going to buy an iPhone when it FIRST comes out, just to see what the reviews say about this kind of stuff.

im not arguing, but i don't understand fingerprint smuge issue. is there some surface out there that "bio-oils" don't show up on. i figured just whiping the thing off would be cool, should i be expecting better? in the macforums, a lot of people have that same complaint, and i really didn't get it.

I am with you on this one. Any shiny flat surface is going to show fingerprints and smudges. If it really bothers you, I suggest a matte screen protector (assuming that it doesn't affect the multi-touch screen). I use one with my current phone (HTC Wizard) and it greatly reduced smudges.

the same complaint was lodged with the Moto RAZR when it was released and it didn't hurt the success of that model. I don't think you can have a large screen without getting some oily smudges on it from time to time. Moto finally started including a little screen wipe with every phone. I'm sure something similar will come out if it's a really big problem with the iPhone.

my t-shirt doubles as a very effective finger print/smudge remover. :laugh2:

anyone who doesn't buy an iPhone because of finger prints really doesn't deserve to have one in the first place.

If the screen is really made out of cubic zirconia than you could probably wipe it off with anything.

Try slapping that iPhone up against your face, ear, and hair and see what the screen looks like. I'm always wiping my lamePhone off after using it.

i've heard of multi touch, but isn't that kind of ridiculous?

do people have seizures when they're on the phone?

hair?

um, when you are talking on the phone isn't it up against your ear which in turn means it is also touching your upper cheek and hair...duh.:p

fair enough...but i have a razr and while it may get smeared every now and then a quick swipe of a tshirt or anything else like that and it's fine.

i don't know about you, but i don't have very much facial hair and i don't really sweat.
