New iPhone purchase

I have purchased a new iPhone and want to give my old one to my wife ( she also has an iPhone but smaller capacity) , we will share the same iTunes account. How do I ensure that when she syncs my old phone that my contacts, apps etc don't get synced to her(my old) phone.

She has her own contacts and does not use all my apps currently...

The if the account is tied to the device, then the info in that account will also be. She needs to create her own account and have your device separate from yours. It will save both of you some headache

Ensure that you designate the new phone by a different name. Example Chris's phone and amber's phone.
Should keep everything simple.
