OK, so now the root password has been cracked? Now what? Not that you can actually do anything with these so what's the big deal?

I don't think its a big deal at all, as said in the article it might have been left over from early development work.

It could be a good thing and a bad thing. It might allow for development of 3rd party applications (good thing) or for developing applications that could read data from your iPhone via WiFi or upload a trojan horse style applications and use your iPhone for spamming (not so good thing :)).

The majority of the Hackers are working to Unlock the phone for use on other networks. The iPhone's SIM card is removable so if they can crack the online activation of the phone there is a good chance they can get it to work on other networks

I don't know... would be cool to know. I think they might eventually include a simple terminal. At least I hope so... as a webmaster and server admin I'd love to be able to SSH into my sites from my iPhone. :)
