I got this No Service message on my iPhone today...called my number via landline, my phone did not ring and I got a standard recorded message forward to my voicemail and says my number is not available. Then got No SIM card installed. Tried to reset it turn it off but did not work, it still said No SIM then finally plugged it into the charger and got an AT&T Signal plus EDGE network up and running again and now it's back to normal operation.. Anyone else got this? :( I am hoping it is not a bad SIM card.

Fixed now after charging it up

This seems to be a low battery power issue. I've seen several folks have issues with having the slider work consistently when their power went low and this also happened to me before I got the first No Service message. I need to see if this repeats itself as it could be a software bug that Apple can easily fix.

Happening to me too....worked great Fri, Sat, Sun.. then this morning.. "No SIM Card installed" message appears. Is is NOT a low power issue... the unit was plugged in all night.

Multiple re-starts.. nothing. Popped the SIM out and back in ... nothing...

Last night ATT automatically processed every original activation - overwriting subsequent successful activations. I was told that they could not reverse the process and I needed to get a new sim and start over.

Are you serious? If so, there would be thousands of people with the same problem. My local AT&T store is not aware of this..

The customer guy that called me back because they actually have pushed me over the edge said 'You are not the only one this has happened with.' I signed on here and suddenly there are posts about 'No Service'. So yep, I think there are a lot of people that lost activation last night.

Still happening to me

It has occurred to me 4 times already. It's been fixed by either taking the SIM card out, powering the iPhone down or resetting the unit. I think AT&T did do something over the weekend because I only started noticing this on Saturday late afternoon. It worked flawlessy before then. I think I will go to the AT&T store today to inquire about this. A friend of mine works there so he can give me some inside scoop on what's been happening lately and possibly have my SIM card replaced since the phone is dead (not receiving calls, etc) when this happens.

First post "greets"

This no SIM card installed message is only occurring when I give it a major slam(I'm the wrecking crew in longevity testing), the volume bar goes high on the home screen at times, which is a random occurrence.

Actually been a great mobile phone and I've "never" encountered anything that resembled that ~ NO SERVICE Message ~ the EDGE network can go radical at times not kicking out your mail or txt messages we've all seen that, maybe I'm blessed with a great crossover coverage area.
