I preordered the 4 when it came out from AT&T due to Apple being hammered.

Apparently I was more patient back then because I don't remember checking status, but I did get the phone a day early.

Granted that was 2 years ago, but hopefully you guys will get lucky too

Yeah this is my first time doing a pre order. Which freaks me out. I usually wait till a few months after. That way you can just walk in and get it immediately. But this year i couldn't resist the iPhone 5. I think it was cause of the LTE and bigger screen. I ordered a white 16gb phone. Still hoping i wake up next Friday to find a surprise at my doorstep.

Did you preorder with AT&T? If so, maybe Apple is just slower at updating the status. Mine is still processing and I preordered at 2am Friday.

I pre-ordered with Apple and mine started showing "Preparing for Shipment" at roughly 2 AM EST this morning.

Did your order from AT&T? And what time did you order? It seems as if i am still seeing ppl who ordered ahead of me who are getting ready to ship msgs. And i am still stuck on processing.

Has anyone ever done a "Pre-sign for a delivery"?
I want it delivered and left like the previous years. Once the tracking number shows Delivered I run home for a late or early lunch break.

I'd be too paranoid for that. The UPS, Fed Ex and Mail man leave packages on the step. IMO, not a good idea no matter how posh the neighborhood is. Our old house thankfully had columns that they could hide packages behind so no one would see them from the street

It is a good thing I am off work on medical leave till Oct 8 (had surgery last month)

I plan on being home but will be doing the pre sign thing. I figure the ups guy will be in a hurry more than usual and he barely taps the door usually anyway before slapping on an infonotice and fleeing like he's getting chased.

Sometimes I wonder if he knocks at all, because even the dogs don't hear it sometimes. At least with a pre sign I don't have to wait till 7pm to go pick it up from the depot across town.

I am in the same boat as you. I just spoke with Apple and the lady (who sounded like she was 15) said it depends on your carrier.

When i went to att.com it has said processing since i first ordered. When i went to the link above it says pending shipment.

Oh ok, that is odd cause everyone i know that ordered through Apple says they received something saying ready to ship or something like that.

It's just saying that on the order status in the Apple store app. At least thats where I am seeing it. Only email I've gotten is the order confirmation

I did too... Pre-orders started at 3am here and my order was complete and I had a email by 3:06. Gotta love it.

I ordered through AT&T online. And it says pending shipment. So i am thinking that i wont hear anything till it ships at this point.
