All it says is they ordered some. It doesn't say anything about stock or receiving of the shipment. I highly doubt Best Buy would get white iPhones when Apple doesn't have them.

Is it just me, or is that list not very reassuring? The only column with numbers in it is the "on order" column.

edit: I see I'm not the only one. :)

The orders for the black iPhones look the same (if you click the link youll see). I thought maybe at first that these are the numbers they received from the stores themselves due to preorders, but i looked again and it made no sense. Because all the numbers are in the 10's or 20's like they are sending specified lots to the stores for iDay.

So yes these look like the numbers they are sending to the stores.

and then on top of what i just said, the white iPhone #'s are drastically lower than the amounts of black iPhones being sent to the store. This further proves that these are the numbers being sent to the store, due to limited amoutns of white iPhones

This does not prove ANYTHING related to white iPhone 4's being shipped to best buy. All it shows is the number on order or black vs. white. Regardless of what they ordered, nothing in these leaked documents show that they will ACTUALLY RECEIVE the white iPhone 4's, or even the number of black iPhone 4's they ordered.

I've read the relevant articles on Giz and Engadget and it is interesting that the blacks seem to be 16G and the white 32G. I wonder why that is. It somehow gives more credibility to the possibility of getting whites in. Lol this is exciting, in a minor way.

yes alone they do not "prove" much. but if you put this, and add it to all the other indications that are pointing to white iPhones on iDay (see my past threads), well.....i think it is very compelling stuff :)

and i just called my bestbuy again, they said YES white iPhones are being released on iDAY. So if i go down there and they don't have any whites, this is just going to be cruel

Unfortunately, that is just what is "on order" and not what is "in transit" They were able to order white units up until Apple stopped the orders for white phones. Whether or not they will be shipped still remains to be seen, but I've been told no.

95% of the people at best buy mobile have no clue what they're talking about.

Still don't think they will have them at launch. If they were able to be shipped to best buy for launch, why wouldn't Apple have had pre orders available to be shipped to consumers by launch.

lol what makes you guys believe that due to these "constraints", that the fact of the matter is, White iPhones WILL be avaialble on iDay, they just weren't made available for pre-order.

Being that they were limited, It makes more sense that they would be available on iDay in the US, rather than available for preorder. Because if they were all preordered online, there would be none in the store on iDay, which would be kind of stale on Apple's part. This is more appealing media-wise, and i think is exactly what is happening.

I know one thing, come thursday, if i get my hands on a white iPhone. I want to see all you doubters come apologize to me in the thread i make.

You're missing my point. If they are available to ship ahead of time to best buy stores in time for launch day, they would have been available to ship ahead of time to consumers also. It makes no sense for Apple to hold out on the consumer. They would rather have people on their site, and in their stores than in best buy.

Perplex, we'll just agree to disagree and see what happens Thursday.

And nobody will owe you an apology for voicing their opinion.

What do the doubters get when there isn't white on launch day?

I appreciate how much you want this, I'm just not blinded by optimism the way you are. I can't even conceive of the mess we'll see on Thursday if people start walking out of stores with white phones. The preorder thing was messy enough already. They'd piss more people off by having them than they would disappoint by not having them.. not that I think they're making any conscious decisions based on that.

Best Buys employees are not giving factual information, and they really suck for leading people on. I JUST spoke to my friend at Apple, and she is not an Apple Store employee, she works at headquarters in Cupertino and is high up on the ladder. She said in fact, Best Buy will NOT be getting white phones before Apple & AT&T, and that no one, not even her, knows if white phones will be available on launch day. So if she doesn't know, your Best Buy employees don't know. That I can assure you. She said that iPhone have now been made available for her to order (Apple pays for her phone) but only black, and that even she can not get a white one. She, however, is waiting for white. She has high hopes that they will be available on iDay, but no one knows for sure. I'm not saying that Best Buy won't have white iPhones on iDay, but if they are going to have them, those employees do not currently know for sure.

I really wish Best Buys employees with no actual knowledge would stopping leading people on. It's just going to be even harder if they don't have any on iDay.
