I'm not really an elite ****, I don't go showing the iPhone off everywhere I go. I use it for what I need then it goes back in my pocket.

Last night and all day today I've had people I work with and complete strangers walk up and tell me I got ripped off.

Seriously? No ****? I think I know that, Apple pulled a fast one on me -- good laugh! ha!

I'm not real pissed about the $200 (not a big deal) but the fact that Apple has made it so random strangers walk up to me and make fun of me? *** Apple? Seriously?

[EDIT]
Not discussing the price drop, more the way people are treating owners of iPhones now.

Have the last laugh! Voice your opinon and don't stop. If you listen to some of the people on here you would forgo all of your rights! Stand up and be heared. I called Amex and got the $200 process started back. Apple / At&t will have to answer to someone!

Money is not the big deal. Sure if they offer a refund to us iday people I would get mine, but I'm really more interested in wtf Apple was thinking. They made their most loyal supporters look like complete fools -- cake on our face if you will. What kind of businesss strategy is that? Apple has always been about their customers and keeping this image of being really supportive and creative -- this flies in the face of the very thing they supposedly stand for.

Just to note, I've owned an iPhone and an ipod -- never a mac -- and I was seriously considering getting a mac book pro, now I just don't know if I can bring my self to do it...

Would you like to know what they were thinking....

Its marketing and R&D. We, the USA, were the beta market for this new device. We actually paid Apple a $200 price on each unit sold for them to do their R&D and come up with realistic pricing points for the rest of the globe.

Not a bad way to pay for your 2-3 years of R&D if you think about it with such a new / hot product. Apple plainly used its consumers to beta test the market!

I didn't buy it with my AMEX and I cannot get the refund. Who else can we complain to? Does anyone have an email address to send comments to?
