Is there a way to organize my photos into different folders that I can name?

Fred
You make a file in iphoto and name the file whatever you like. Drag the pics from your library in the file. I have thousands of pics in my iphoto library and do not want all of them on my phone. My phone has 3 folders for now
1) Library
2) contact pictures
3) iPhone wallpapers

(1)All pictures loaded to iPhone will go into the library file automatically.(2) I have pictures of family and friends and when phone rings I see the picture and know who is calling.(3) As I find wallpapers I like put them into the wallpaper file and change wallpapers every day or so. On the itune sync page I check only the files I want to sync to phone... the 3 I mention above. You can have many files..

This works, but with one snag from where I sit. The Library ends up as a folder with ALL the photos from the other folders in it. This causes my system to convert and sync 2x the actual number of photos.

please advise.

That is the way iphoto works on the computer also.. you actually have a library file that contains (1 )copy of all the pictures. To find or separate easily you make a file to access the pics without looking through the whole library. In reality you only have 1 copy of each picture.

The iPhoto is for the Mac users, right? What if I want to create picture files on my iPhone as a PC user?

Why sort through multiple photo albums when you can use tags? Have a look at this app Sortshots. In this app you can tag your pics with personalized keywords, ratings, etc. Also whenever you'll transfer the pics to your ipad the sequence will not be changed.Awesome app :)
