Out of ideas

I could use as much guidance as possible, so I'm gonna try to be very detailed.

Phone:
iPhone 4 32g past warranty
4.3.3
4.10.01
Jailbroken (jailbreakme.com) + limerain

Issue:
Recently I bought a gevey sim to unlock my phone (real gevey ultra). Some how the furiousmod package required for the gevey unlock, would push my phone into "connect to iTunes" status. This is where limerain is involved, through trial and error I found that jb with limerain would knock it back into regular mode...re-jailbreak as well I guess. What also happens is that furiousmod affects something related to iTunes which leads to an error saying "iTunes can not read contents of the phone". iTunes suggests that I restore up to 4.3.5. To resolve this I have to ssh with iFile, delete 2 iTunes files, and delete my music folder which is fine because I have none on it.

I attempted to use gevey a number of times, same result. Same issue with iTunes, same ssh steps to get iTunes to read it. So then I decided I wanted to remove everything and start over. Chose to "erase all content and settings"...dumb idea. The phone goes into erase mode, showing and Apple logo about a progress bar that never moves. Like it never moves, not even a little. Just sits there. I know Apple says it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hrs, so last night I decided to leave it. This morning it's sitting there looking the same. In order to get it out of this mode, I simply reboot it.

However now Cydia won't open, some message shows about re-something files. Says it'll close when done, but it's never done. All cydia apps are gone off the phone...iFile too, meaning I can't ssh and just delete cydia. xxxxxxxxx is gone, everything. My AppStore apps all remain however...I've never installed open ssh through cydia so I can't get in via Cyberduck...I'm out of ideas.

Goal:
Reset the phone to factory 4.3.3 and leave it to wait for iOS5. Don't want to update to 4.3.5 because I'm not interested in a tethered jailbreak. Do I have options at this point? What can I do?

Footnotes:
Phone gets stuck while trying to "erase all content". I want cydia gone, but can't seem to ssh into the phone via Cyberduck "connection refused". Cydia won't open. iTunes says it "can't read content". All of these problems began because of furiousmod package from cydia....grrrrrrrr!

Moved to iPhone Unlock.

You can shift+restore to 4.3.3 if you have an SHSH for it. Then jailbreak and hacktivate with greenpois0n. It will work like an iPod Touch at that point. Never use the erase all content and settings feature on a jailbroken device. It usually leads to getting stuck at the boot logo. Restore in iTunes instead. Be sure to edit your hosts file first.

Thanks for that advice, however...

There is no shsh for 4.3.3, only 4.3.5. I think that's an iPhone 4 thing. It's never been on 4.3.5, but it has that an 5.0 shsh.

Also

I was thinking of just restoring to 4.3.5 and unlocking it, then running whatever jailbreak I could find. Are any untethered for 4.3.5?

Or

Just waiting for a 5.0 unlock in a few months, and leaving it alone for now. I dunno.

Use the latest version of iFaith...this is what it's designed for....it will grab your SHSH file for 4.3.3 even though that firmware is not currently signed...

Oh but wait, if it's not signed currently, will iTunes still allow me to restore with it? I

Spoke too soon, apparently it's only available on Windows? Gonna borrow a friends comp and try it later.

Any idea if it's possible to email an ispw? Thinking about doing this on the pc, then emailing it to myself to restore on my Mac.

No. .ipsw files are several hundred MB. You can put it on a flashdrive.

If you still have access to your friends computer I would consider using the correct version of Sn0wbreeze for 4.3.3 firmware to build your custom .IPSW file ....and use tinyumbrella to fool iTunes into believing your custom firmware is current/signed...when Restoring your iPhone...Goodluck
