Outlook on Exchange Server and Syncing Calendar

My University uses a MSFT Exchange Server. I know that the iPhone does not Sync with the Exchange Server. I have gotten around this on email by setting up my email account to connect through the Web link to the Exchange server. It is not ideal, but is satisfactory for me.

My remaining problem is to find a way to Sync my Calendar with the iPhone.
I thought by setting Outlook to "offline", that might work, but it doesn't.

I have another idea and may need some advice on whether it will work.
Install on my computer another version of Outlook - not connected to the Exchange Server. Then setup in iTunes that version to sync with my phone.
Will that work? I just need it for the Calendar and will continue to get email from the Web link.

Thanks

Actually, I just checked it and I'm not sure why it is working. When i mentioned web link, I was thinking of my laptop. I have to use weblink when I am off campus. On campus works directly in Outlook.

I thought I had done that on my phone, but when I checked settings, it is just set to my email account with normal settings. Not sure why this works, but it does both for incoming and outgoing mail.

I sync my calendar with my Outlook at work that's on an enterprise server. I just check sync calendar in iTunes and it works when I plug it in. I'm not sure why this wouldn't work for you because I know I am unable to get any access to mail but I can sync my calendar which seems to be the opposite situation that you're in.
