I have a 2007 Mazda which has a simple input to the car stereo which works simply and brilliantly with the ipod.

Same cable, same hookup, but it doesn't work with the iPhone. (ugh!).

Anyone know why or have the same experience?

Thanks!

Someone else must have posted about this issue. I mean, it's a biggie (well for me anyway ;)

I mean if I have to carry one more device, I'm gonna kill :)

For some reason Apple elected to do something differently with the connector pins on the iPhone. You would have thought that they would have left it the same as the 5G iPod video... so we wouldn't need new adapters to do things like listen to music over our stereos or even use existing docks. My DLO FM transmitter doesn't work with my iPhone either...

My car audio (factory) comes cd/cassette, and the cassette adapter for mp3 players works fine with the iPhone. Are you ppl talking about a direct connection, or a connection through an adapter?

I have an alpine CDA-9856 with iPod integration and i can use my iPhone and control it through the headunit. When i get a call, the music fades and the ringtone plays just like with the headphones on...i can even answer a call while its plugged in and use it like a normal phone, then hang up and the music goes back through the speakers...I have yet to try speakerphone though and see if that will feed it through the speakers or not.

i have a JVC KD-AVX2 head unit in my car that came with a JVC KSPD100 Ipod Adapter that you plug into the Dock Connector and it works just fine...just cant pick up the phone when i get calls while its plugged it or the speakers make that funny noise
You need the bluetooth adapter, homie.

My AVX33 works awesome with the iPhone.

I am having an issue with my ipod interface kspd100...i cant get it to work with my iPhone and kdavx33. Did you have to do anything special to make this work? I also called JVC and they said that it wasn't compatible with the iPhone and your saying it is. maybe you could shed some light for me on this issue...thanks

Hi, I have a KS-PD100 too and a JVC KD-BT1 Head Unit. I can get my iPhone to work as a bluetooth phone. When I connect the KS-PD100, iPhone display the message about the Airplane mode. Yes or No do the same for me. The head unit display 'File Check' and that's it. The iPhone display Accesory connected.

Is there anything I can do to make it work ?

Thank you... Hope it will work !

I use the Tape Deck Adapter. Cut off a lil plastic on the end that goes into the iPhone so no need to get a TTY adapter.

I have been to the Apple store 2x and explained my issues since my current port in the car does not allow the music to play through the speakers on my iPhone. I purchased a new cable the Apple store recommended and it didn't work. I returned it and purchased the specific jack to attach to original cable I have and it still doesn't work. I even had my iPhone tested at the Apple store to make sure it wasn't a problem in the phone and we attached a headset to the port on the phone and it worked fine. I am so frustrated. P.S. the Ipods my family has work just fine in the car! Any other suggestions?
