Have a friend who has gone "bonkers" over my iPhone and is very seriously thinking of one. He's out of Sprint contract with a Treo 650. Running Windows XP (pro)

He's asked if I will help "set it up" especially with contacts and email. I told him "sure". I have no clue with PC's! I wouldn't know where to start.

Is the syncing fairly straight forward? Thanks!

Pretty much.. If you buy it from your local AT&T store they will explain what you need and what you will need to do. Just to simplify something.. Make sure you plug it into a USB port and not a USB hub. May cause you a headache wondering why your computer doesn't see the phone.

the easiest thing to do is to sync contacts to outlook from current device. I had a blackberry so it was seamless. If not able to sync directly to outlook, then type in all the contacts one by one. trust me, that is easier than inputting them to the iPhone manually.

Then when you set up and sync the iPhone the first time, it will grab all the outlook contacts and info and will be great! hope this helps
