I picked up my iPhone friday. I waited in line for 13 hours, it took 12 hours to activate. I played around with it all weekend, had a few minor blackberry to Apple data plan issues but my ATT rep fixed it right away.

Today, Monday was the first full day of actual businesss use. And I have to say that this is the absolute BEST phone/pda/ipod I've EVER used. And believe me, I've had them all. I've had every blackberry model, every Treo, multiple razors, Nokia's and every other device you can imagine.

I mean come on, look what this thing will do? Not only has it changed the cell phone industry but it has lapped microsoft AGAIN.

So for all of you whiners and complainers, I challenge any of you to show me another device that will do what the iPhone does TODAY...otherwise shut up about what it won't do and be thankful for what it will do...which is light years ahead of your treo's, blackberries, Razors and whatever other POS of phone you had before Friday.

Stop worrying about iPhone 2, 3G, MMS, etc....we all know this is not the last phone Apple will release, you bought it...now ENJOY IT!

I didn't buy it yet... I'm still waiting to hear everything it won't do to make sure it'll work for me. Not saying that it's not great, but if it won't take the place of at least two of my current geek gadgets, I don't need it.

My activation took 36 hours and me getting a new sim card from my AT&T store... But once activated my phone is flawless. Everything runs perfectly and its definitely the best phone around. I think a lot of people got caught up in the hype and expect it to perform every single thing they desire, which no phone ever will.

It is a great phone, I'll admit that. I just think that it needs a little extra "umph", if you know what I mean. Just add AIM and Flash, and you have me hooked.

I'm pretty happy with my iPhone. I wouldn't give it up for anything. Sure, there are things I would like different but they are so minor in comparision to what I love about it.

its so great and fun to use! activation only took 4 minutes from start to finish! EDGE is running GREAT when i have no wifi and everyone around me loves it. everyone asks "hey! is that the new iPhone?! I want one so bad! You are soo lucky!" at which point i smile and say "yuup yes it is. you wanna move the slider?" and they do and they are giddy with excitement. its such a conversation starter! love my iPhone!

It's always nice to hear people's positive experiences. I waited in line for 12 hours and luckily I was able to sync and activite within a matter of a couple of hours. I agree it's a fantastic phone. :laugh2:

Couldn't have been simpler, Couldn't be happier!

I waited in line for 9 hours (#21) and waited for the whole hour it took to drive home to open the box. It took about 4 minutes to download the iTunes update and about 5 to activate my phone. I was a current ATT customer, maybe that's why it went so easily?

I don't sleep with it in the bed because my husband wouldn't like that, but believe me I've thought about it! I haven't seen another one anywhere in town, and when people see it they want to touch it and handle it and try the buttons...but I rarely let it go.

I love my iPhone!:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Not with iPhone :)

I challenge any of you to show me another device that will do what the iPhone does TODAY...
I am not even sure what you mean. I can not think of any iPhone feature that would not be available on most (if not all) smart phones. There are some gimmicks not available elsewhere but that would be it. Calling? e-mailing? Web Browsing? Music/Video playback? Everybody can do that. Most phones would actually do more than iPhone: 3G, SMS, GPS, flash cards, VOIP, Video recording, audio-recording, better lenses, better control over camera, better choice of audio/video formats, games, e-books, Bluetooth (real, not iPhone style - the one that I could use to connect to BT-enabled GPS or a keyboard), Push mail (real, not iPhone style), MS Outlook synchronization (real ... :)), file managers, tethering, keyboards and so on. I find it rather rather embarrassing how crippled iPhone is compared to most other phones.

Could you tell me what is it iPhone can do that other phones can not?

I believe iPhone has its strengths (primarily as media device) but i am not sure people know well what its real strengths and weaknesses are.

Regards.

Great POST!

I absolutely Agree with the original Post here.

Any Whin-errrrrrs here really need to take their "candy ass"
some where else. Because this really is a fun, great, amazing
piece of Equipment.

I have to tell you though, I'm silently looking forward to returning
to my regularly scheduled program.

I have the iPhone. I know it's Super Duper.

You know it's Great.
People who've read about it know it's Cool.

Those who've seen it in your Hands wish they had one.

At some point, we all have to return to our place in life,
and let the edge of tech, fall where is does.

Let me out of here!

~Lol~~~~

responding to the post just above me...
The iPhone evokes "passion".

To answer your question.

Maybe, but it has nothing to do with phone and everything to do with PR ;)
I understand that people who stand in lines for hours could be reluctant to admit that iPhone is ... well just another phone. The passion is good though. If one did not have a desire to stand in lines for other phones but did so for iPhone - it should be worth something :) (and I mean it)

As I said...show me ONE device on the market that will do what the iPhone will. Name it, model, manufacture, etc....I don't mean a camera on this one, or 3G on that one.

Show me ONE phone that has: As much storage, wifi...a finger driven multi-touch screen with intuitive gesture shortcuts that make complex actions simple a multiple page, standard web browser with smart, resolution independent zooming a real photo and music media library, and real calendar and contact applications, real 3-pane email with support for HTML mail and push accounts; support for visual voicemail, integration with iTunes for real media sync, not just ringtones and pay per view toy video.

As far as what the iPhone can do that others cannot....have you even seen this phone?

So Cal USA
I would say that only ever having Apple computers I would have to say it just fits my brain better than any other phone or PDA.

you know the ones that would never sync 100% of the info you need or after payng a grip of money on a "Smart" phone you having to cough up $30 more for third party software to get it to sometimes work with Mac OS.

This is by far the best phone I've ever had. It took me 5 mins to activate it. I have a family plan and just replaced my phone with this one. I don't think i'll ever be able to have another phone unless microsoft can make one better.
