Hey guys!

My little sister who is only 13 has just made her first YouTube video. She is a very keen singer and in the video she is singing "you're so gay" by Katy Perry. She has not had many views or comments and I know all you wicked people out there will watch this and hopefully leave a comment for her. I want to get her some traffic as she is a very gifted singer for her age and she is not far away from being a great singer! She is already in main role pantos and shows! She is in a great choir and she performed a huge show at Leeds castle not so long ago! Anyway here is the video! Please be nice :)

Thanks guys :)

P.S. Please tell ALL of your friends about the video and let's get her some views!

She is a good singer. She was scouted at a show and put into a huge show at a castle in the uk. She tries her hardest. And I would appreciate it if instead of pointing out all the bad things you would just not bother posting. She tries her hardest. Its a video recorded with a crappy webcam and the sound recording is crap. I know she has a great voice. Even if she was patchy at times. If you have nothing nice to say then say nothing? You compare her voice to that of a real "artist"? At least she can sing without a engineer altering her voice left right and centre. I bet she can sing 10x better than most of the popstars these days.

let's just say that i would listen to her from outside the door when she takes a shower, but i wouldn't pay money to hear her sing....
also, she depends on attitude, which i understand that singers sing from the soul, but the vocals are what people want, but it's the attitude that people see

@illusion you asked for comments and opinion. not all comments are nice, but they all CAN be used to better the person. it's called honest beneficial criticism. to censor any criticism is to a)go against the amendments and b)not honest, especially asking for comments. if you want people to say, "yeah, she's awesome" or "she's the next beyonce", there is no way that will happen from anyone. plus why the heck would you want that? why would you want to hear what you're doing right, when you get try to illuminate what you're doing wrong. does she have potential? yes, but she needs to work hard and if we don't say what she needs to work on, then how can she better herself? so in other words, you're not being fair to her or us if you ask for comments and then censor what we say. just my two cents...

Don't bother posting here again. I cannot stand you or your attitude. Please avoid my posts in future also. I didn't ask for criticism. Yours wasn't even constructive.

LMAO!

you're kidding me right? you asked for comments, that means good and bad. you know what illusion, if you can't stand the comments, then you shouldn't be a musician nor a friend of a musician. both irish and i meant nothing bad. our comments are to improve her. it takes a mature person to understand that and you don't. if you're looking for comments about how epic this girl is, then what's the purpose of this thread? and if you're going to defend her, then at least give us reason why we should think she's great, not just censoring us. there's a lot more i can say, but it wouldn't be mature of me, nor would it be allowed on this thread. all i have to say is think about what the purpose of this thread is and put it into reality. NOBODY will say that she's great, but EVERYONE will say how she can improve and that's how the music businesss is, especially in the beginning. just because my post doesn't agree with your stubborn state of mind, that doesn't mean what we all have to say isn't true and worthy of consideration. if you don't like what we have to say then ask the mods to close this thread because you will be disappointed by what people will say.

I didn't say anything to you? I didn't ask for criticism. constructive criticism is fine. Irish's post was NOT constructive.

Constructive criticism:

-- As Irish Rose said that's an awful choice of song for a 13 year old - and a song title that's flat-out offensive to many regardless of who's singing it.

-- Again, as Irish Rose pointed out, she needs to sing without the song itself playing along. It's hard to say anything much about her voice if she's just singing along with a track.

-- Just based on this one song, her voice doesn't seem too strong or extraordinary in any way.

Maybe share some of her other efforts where she sings on her own and see what people think.

It's not that bad. Nothing like I thought it would be based on the comments. But I do agree it's a little bad of a song to be singing at 13.

I agree with Simon Cowell..er i mean Irish, she a cute teen and maybe with some years of practice she will be a great singer, but right now she needs practice...but then again, how many teens can really belt out a tune? Not many as evidenced by the Idol auditions.
A quick aside, Simon made American Idol...it went downhill without him.

And I must agree with the song choice. But I'm afraid teens are purged with all that rubbish music
Does she like Adele at all? She's about a zillion times better singer than Katy Perry IMO.

My 8 year old daughter's current fave is Selena Gomez - so really the musical taste barrier in our house is far from high. :) Oh, and she also seems to want to be a pop star / dancer / veteranarian when she grows up.

I love Simon and his tell it like it is attitude. If someone didn't like what he had to say Simon would be like, piss off, which is kind of how I feel when someone asks for an opinion and then gets all up in my face when I give it to them.... I stopped watching American idol the day Simon left that show. Thank god he's coming back again here in the US with his own show called "The X Factor".
