I keep hearing that only a small percentage of people here have done any mods to their phone. It got me kind of curious as to how many people here really modify their phone. Simple poll........Mod or No Mod?;)

If you bricked this phone you would be more famous than the kid who got the 350Z. I do believe you would be the first official brick. Unless anyone has heard of an actual brick incident.

I haven't heard of anyone bricking the iPhone...ever.

I've added NES, VNotes, TextEdit, Terminal, Blackjack, TicTacToe, and Installer (of course) on my phone. Everything works fine - no problems :)

Not bricked but I have heard of people who modded who couldn't fully recover. No wi-fi or something similar after restore.

That's what kept me from doing it... the jailbreaking.

P.S. I voted "No" although I did add ringtones with iPhoneReingtonemaker. I guess that's technically a hack/mod though the jailbreak thing scares me. It doesn't make me recover on updates so maybe not a true mod?

Maybe I should have voted "Yes".

I think it's impossible to "brick" it with software but I don't wanna take the chance.

Well i did mod my iPhone.

Carrier logo
Background/theme
Ringtones

But after the update i haven't bother with it.

I might add ringtones back on
But not really worried about the rest right now.

I wasn't going to mod mine either, but then I couldn't help myself. Only a few things -I added the NES emulator and about a hundred NES games. Added a theme to the main application page (looks soo much better). Added Dock 2.0. I love this little app because it allows me to add unlimited programs without cluttering up the main app page with too many icons.

Yes I modded mine. Every phone I ever owned was modded. Just in my blood I guess, lol. Custom ringtones, custom system sounds, battery charging icons, signal strength icons, carrier logo, slide to unlock, slide to power off, lots of 3rd party apps etc. etc.

This is a bad statistic because we are talking about people who love their iPhone enough to visit a forum about it.

So out of roughly 11,000 enthusiastic people only half modded their iPhone. I would bet that way under 20% of people that own iPhones not on this forum have modded them. So if you are trying to get a percentage, it's not much....but still neough to drive a community of hackers :laugh2:

I haven't yet but will eventually, Im waiting for all the updates to calm down.. Just seems to much of a pain to Mod, update comes out, restore, update, mod... rinse repeat everytime a update comes out.

Far as ringtones, I just used iPhoneringtonemaker. simple and easy

I'm not trying to do a professional market analysis here. I'm just wanting to see what the people who visit this thread do with their phones. I don't care about the people who don't visit this forum.:p

New Screen Shot

lets see some screenshots...
This theme is called 1940s Tech. I love it except I didn't like the phone icon. It was just to big or something. So I replaced it with another phone that I think looks cleaner and fits better. I hid the SMS messaging icon because I honestly never use it and hid all new progrm icons using Dock 2.06. I prefer a simple clean look without so many added icons. But I use the NES emulator often so I created a new icon that matched the others in the theme and placed it where the SMS icon used to be.:)
