I agree with you, the waiting list issue is a joke, and very misleading. Let's say that a store has a waiting list of 400 customers. Just think how long it would take to call all those people. Then what if there is no answer and no voice mail or other way to leave a message?why is everyone so obsessed over these waitlists?
especially the ones that are out now that aren't even official.
it's become quite obvious that some stores (ok, maybe most) are just taking a list and are more than likely just going to contact these people to let them know they're available....they're not going to make a vip list based on the waiting list. the AT&T release made that quite obvious.
thanks you! ive been to several stores and all have said first come first serve here in TN. One store said they started a list and it got so large in two days, they just threw it out.I agree with you, the waiting list issue is a joke, and very misleading. Or what if they get the person on the phone and that potential customer has all these questions they want answered. They would be on the phone forever. It's nonsense.
Based on past use of waiting lists, they are useless. What happens is the moment the product becomes available, the store fills with people ready to buy on the spot. The store is not going to refuse to sell to these customers and just put the product on the shelf and save it for someone on the list. Especially since that person may have changed their mind or can no longer afford it, or any one of a thousand different reasons.
The stores that are run by experienced managers are the ones that are not waisting their time by maintaining a waiting list.
They are smart enough to know that this phone will sell itself and dealing with a waiting list is a waste of time and money.
As great as that would be, I really hope that we get a little more notice so I can schedule a vacation day. I suppose I could always be sick on the 12thMy personal feeling is that Steve Jobs will announce the release date 6/11 at WWDC and that magical date will be the next day - 6/12. The crowd erupts in applause, the heavens part and all is right with the world.
Why doesn't it make sense? I don't care what day it is as long as I can get one.I don't understand why they would pick a Wednesday to release. It doesn't make sense.
Because you would think they would want it to start at the beginning of the week. I hope they're right, but just basing it on a phone call to a Cingular store seems like conjecture to me.Why doesn't it make sense? I don't care what day it is as long as I can get one.![]()
