Problem with SIM after update

I did an OTA update with my dads iPhone 4 and after the update was complete its saying no SIM card installed. I turned the phone off took the sim out and plugged it into iTunes but nothing is working. It's running IOS 5.0.1. Please someone help me

Have you tried cleaning the SIM compartment? Have you tried resetting network settings? Have you tried the SIM in another phone?
