They are popping up all over the place. If anyone lives near pasadena and cant make it in time, i may be able to work out a deal. You see my friends are doing just this. Waitng in line and selling their spots! check out our listing.here

Please...get a job! Are you that desperate for money you need to sell spots in line? I want the iPhone on day 1 but if i can't get one due to demand i'll wait. I would never ever pay someone for their spot, that's ridiculous. Why would you take someone's spot who actually has the money for the iPhone just so you can make a couple of hundred bucks? Are you that broke, seriously? I think that a lot of people saying they will buy the iPhone won't be able to b/c of money. so if everyone just ignores these fools selling their spots in line, just wait and don't take their spot, b/c when the time comes they won't be able to buy one. hence, they waste hours of time in line only to feel like a complete moron, and us paying customers will be able to get one!
Why on Earth would someoen do this when they can go online at Apple and order it. Geeze. They can't wait a couple more days?
I don't know if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but the best system I heard of was a an AT&T store in Boston was planning to hand out bracelets at 10 am. Then those with bracelets could come back at 6pm and be taken care of.

This will never happen. IF you don't have service with Cingular/At&t and are not the primary account holder, then you won't be in line. I'm sure the managers and crowd control personnel will handle little schemes like this.
You don't need to be the primary account holder, just need to have the last 4 of their social. I've purchased phones like this for years.
You might have done it before, but it's DEFINITELY against the policy. On Friday, I would bet that At&t will be following policy.
Let's not rehash this argument. This thread is about someone selling spots in line. We've already gone over the primary account holder and the SS# scenario.

No argument. I had the same questions and went the my local AT&T store 3 days ago and had them answered. The info i gave you guys is what i was told and what i have been doing for YEARS. Do what you like. But think about it, what if the primary lives in another state? You can't be expected to fly them in just you can upgrade your phone plan. That's why they last 4 works over the phone and works in store.
