First off, thank you to Apple and Steve Jobs for doing the right thing by giving their most loyal customers and early adopters $100 store credit. Personally, I think this is a fair resolution to an unfortunate problem. I wish Apple took this route from the beginning, but better late then never.

I'm curious to know how many of the folks out there that said we have no right to be upset about the price decrease plan use the store credit Steve J has offered.

Wife was planning to buy a shuffle for her trail running (lost her current one in a spill). So at least I will not shell out extra coin.

This line of thinking is a little scary. I am one of those who thought all the people cursing and wanting to burn Jobs at the stake were over reacting. Am I going to use my credit? Um, duh.

$100 is more than generous. I am thinking about either the jawbone headset or the Apple one. I am leaning towards the jawbone. Both would be out of my budget without the $100.

It is available to anyone who bought the iPhone and is not able to receive the $200 discount.

I will fully admit that I am one of the people who said that the $200 price drop is fair game for being an early adopter. However, I'm also not a fool. If someone puts a $100 bill in front of you and says "here take it" then you're damn right you take it! I still would not have been upset had Apple not done this but again, I'm not a moron, I'm taking my money and running with it.

Off to decide what I want from the Apple store now.........

Who has gotten this rebate? What documentation do you need? I ordered mine from Apple.com and I think the only thing I have is the confirmation email. Is that enough?

So True! Every nay sayer should relinquish their store refund! Unless they want to admit they were wrong or they want to admit they just wanted to go against the grain to start s&!t

I believe that they will probably go by product registration, or by iTunes activation. They have all that data sitting there, I am sure that they will sort it out.

Even though this subject (like so many others) has already been covered in other threads, I'll give you my answer. I didn't think it was necessary for Jobs to give a credit, but since he is offering me $100, I am certainly going to take it. Why would anyone turn it down?

Actually, I see it from the opposite side: How many of those slamming Apple and Jobs, saying it was a matter of "principle" that they shouldn't lower the price so soon, and are still unhappy with anything less than the $200 difference, are planning to refuse the $100 store credit? Shouldn't you refuse it on the matter of your own principles? The very ones accusing Apple and Jobs of putting money and greed ahead of principle and ethics will be the very first ones in line to put the $100 ahead of their own principle and ethics.

Sorry, you're correct. I let my guard down and answered a thread that has been posted several time before. Great retort three_green!

Nothing to see here, move on people.
