I'm sure this has been covered dozens of times, in dozens of threads, but i don't want to back-read through everything. I have several questions, and although i know nothing is set in stone yet, i'd like to know what the general consensus is on most of these topics.

1. I am an existing member, in a family plan which is only 6 months old. I've called my local ATT store, and they told me two different things. Girl #1 told me that since i wasn't eligible for an upgrade for another 15 months, there was no way i'd get the iPhone. Upgrade eligible only. Girl # 2 told me that they were pretty much in the dark about that, and that it didn't make any sense whatsoever for them not to sell the phone outright. She thinkgs girl #1 is completely talking out of her ass. Let's pretend for a minute that girl #1 is correct, will i just be able to add on a 5th line to the family package and use that for my iPhone, or will that tack on an extra two years to my family's package?

2. My local ATT will NOT be getting iPhones in-store. The manager said that since they were considered a "kiosk" branch, there would not actually by any physical units in the store, and that i would have to go to the closest major city to get one. No problem really. My question is this (it's a pretty dumb one) But, will the people from the ATT in indianapolis not sell me an iPhone since i'm not a member of their area/zip code? Can i buy the phone there, and set it up through them, even though my actual service is an hour away?

hey one question where are you from?
I live in Muncie, INDIANA...and indianapolis is 45min away from me
But i have the same problem, i was told I have to wait 13 months before I get iPhone, and i don't see why someone has to be eligible for an upgrade when there is no discount on iPhone. So lets hope this isn't true.

I'm from Kokomo, so you're not too far away man. I really hope this is just false info, because it honestly doesn't make any sense. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't worried about it though.

I am in the same boat since(same worries) I am not eligible for an upgrade until 1/08, but have called 611 from my phone several times and was given the same answer each time. I was told " You will be able to purchase the iPhone. You will pay either $499 or $599 depending on the model you choose" Each time they have looked at my account(and I have told them I know am not eligible for an upgrade until 1/08) and said the same thing. Not that I trust the At&T phone rep 100%, but I do trust them more then they employees in the store.
