Question about e-mail & speaker on iPhone. Thx in advance...

I'm new to the forum so HELLO to all!

My first question is regarding e-mail. I use a certain email address everyday for work with outlook. I currently have a BB Pearl and would like to purchase the iPhone here in a week or so. But before I do I want to make sure that I can use my e-mail address for work on my iPhone like I do with my pearl. No I'm not on a blackberry server or anything like that.

I guess my question is can I use any old e-mail address on my iPhone or does it have to be yahoo, gmail or something like that?

Secondly my blackberry pearl has the worse speaker I have ever heard on any phone. Way to low. Could the iPhone possibly be any worse?

I'm not sure when you say "old e-mail" what that means, but as long as it has POP support it will work with the iPhone.

I've owned the BB Pearl before my iPhone and the iPhone speaker is slightly better. But its nothing to brag about. Hope this helps.

Just to claify when I said "old e-mail" I just meant any random e-mail address.

If your work email address is on a MS Exchange server, you could have problems. In order to use MS Exchange, your network administrator will have to enable IMAP on the server. Many have refused to do this because of the security issues.
