I was just wondering about ordering from Apple.com, since this may be what I will go with. Do the online iPhone sales start 6 PM EDT tomorrow just like the stores? Will there be an overnight delivery option? I realize that the phone probably wouldn't ship until Monday since it wouldn't ship over the weekend, but this does mean you would receive it on Tuesday right before July 4th. Is the online phone ordering a first come first serve basis? So in other words if you ordered online right at 6 PM, would you be one of the first people they send iPhones out to?

Also, regarding the deposit and what not. Is all of this determined during the activation through iTunes. What I mean is, during the activation process, does it run the credit check on you and then determine what your deposit amount is? At that point, would they just take the deposit out of the credit card you have on file with iTunes? Sorry I am asking so many questions, it just looks like since I am working tomorrow and I wouldn't be able to get to the AT&T store until my lunch break at 8:30 PM, my chances of getting the iPhone in store are pretty slim. Thanks for the feedback.

It would be 9pm Eastern and 6 pm Cupertino, CA. time ..

So us on the east can try at 6pm , if unsuccessful try online at 9pm.

Found on Apple.com site, somewhere

Apple’s online store will be taking orders for iPhone beginning at 6:00 p.m. PDT. iPhone will be available in a 4GB model for $499 (US) and an 8GB model for $599 (US), and will work with either a PC or Mac®. Beginning June 30 and continuing through the summer, Apple Stores in the US will open early at 9:00 a.m. for iPhone sales. Customers can check iPhone availability at their local Apple retail store starting at 9:00 p.m. the night before at www.apple.com/retail.

Not that I don't trust you, I definitely believe you, but I just can't find this text anywhere on the Apple site. I believe you though. Thank you for the information.
