If I need to download applications that are NOT music/videos/movies, will I be able to do it w/o using iTunes or is that a must? Need to know b/c I have a lot of medical stuff that I have on my Treo that use daily - this is a requirement for me to buy this!

I know you can set an iPod up for disk storage, but I'm not sure about the iPhone. I guess we'll just have to wait until Friday to see if this is going to be an option with iPHone.

You're going to have a hard time getting answers for a device that hasn't even been launched yet. Your best bet is to wait and keep your Treo until you can find out more.

problem is that the treo is not working and now i am using an older phone. i guess i may wait for an extra few days and then walk into an Apple store and discuss it with them at that time. thanks for the input.

Just saw that.

What iPod features does it lack? Games, lyrics, video output to a TV and disk mode (when the iPod acts as a hard drive for transporting computer files).
interesting, but like many other things that the article mentions, these may soon be a software upgrade too.
