If you recently upgraded your phone or are one of us who are not eligible for upgrade yet, have no fear.

Check out the FAQs from the AT&T iPhone site:

http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/iphone-faqs.jsp

Q. I just upgraded my phone recently. Are there any penalties or restrictions for upgrading to iPhone right away?
A.
No. Everyone can upgrade to iPhone right away.

Welcome to EI both of you.

Anyone can upgrade. If you just upgraded last week, you can buy an iPhone and extend your contract two more years. At&t is looking to lock people down for the duration here.

Everyone can buy the iPhone. I'm so relieved that this was cleared up today.

I have never completed a 2 year contract. All it takes is a review of your account and they make the decision. The more you spend and the more lines you have the sooner you get to upgrade.

As for the iPhone, I believe everybody will get one.

Read the FAQ

Especially this sentence:

Everyone can upgrade to iPhone right away.

I kinda think the people at Att putting the info on the website know more than the idiot who works behind the counter at the store.

You don't have to wait the entire contract period anyway. I have always been able to upgrade from 1 to 1.5 years into my contract.

I would not put too much faith into these reps. I would be willing to bet at this stage most of us on this board are equally if not more knowledgeable. I have talked to several, including in-store people, who I think are making assumptions. (Wow an assumption about an assumption)

I think there was some fine print somewhere that said additional lines were $29.99.
wrong family plan lines are 9.99 per additional line with family plan and iPhone unlimited data is 20 an iPhone!
