Recording video on iPhone 5

I've never been big on using the video option on the iPhone but with Xmas coming up I thought I'd give it a try and I was shocked at how bad the video came out it was blurry and the sound was terrible you could just hear us talking but it was mostly hissing is this a problem ant of you guys have had or have....

It should be high definition video quality and sound decent unless you're in dim lighting, moving the phone rapidly and there are lots of sounds coming from different directions.

Mine just fine. Recorded my kids play at the mall with a lot background sound.
