Hey just thinking about getting a refubed iPhone instead of a new one (for the price savings of course). Has anyone bought one yet, and what kind of shape was it in physically? Any scratches or dents, or anything like that. I would trust Apple to refurbish it functionally to "new" condition. thanks a lot.

i bought mines new but just wondering the same thing i really doubt the condition might that bad if it is u probably can make a exchange or soemthing because all the refurbished ones are 2nd hand and the phone been out for only 2months so wont be that bad, beat up shape i presume..

but later on when peopel start needing to replace for battery and ships it in and all that you have a better chance with it buying now because like i said no one is going to have it used over and over because the phone only been out for 2months.

They look brand new. The exterior casing is replaced if need be. Ive bought close to 10 Apple refurb products in my life and ALL of them were indistinguishable from brand new.

I just bought the 4gb refurb model. It arrived this past Thursday, and everything about it was / is pristine. If there is a way to tell by its outward appearance that it is a refurb, I haven't spotted it ...

Box is the same as the new one
except color it plain white

" the box will end up in the recycling bin or somewhere collecting dust anyway "

Full warranty, like-new condition, different packaging. That's the bottom line.

Buy Apple refurbished products without a single worry! I've been doing it for years and have NEVER been disappointed. It's about a solid a bet as you'll find anywhere.

Take that to the bank....along with the money you save

IMO refurbs are better than brand new.

Reason:

New products are not individually tested for quality/functionality. Only about 1in1000 are physically tested. However, ALL refurbs are manually tested for performance after they are fixed.

With that in mind. Buy a refurb with confidence as you will be certain that an Apple tech tested it before they shipped it out to you

Refurbished units have been returned by their original owner. In many. many, many cases, there was nothing wrong with them to begin with but either way, they have been thoroughly tested and repaired (if necessary) by highly trained Apple techs and carry a full warranty.

There is no risk in purchasing a refurbished unit.

I think sometimes refurbished is they way to go all the bugs are out of it. been rechecked rather than a assembly line one that is just powered on and off to see if it works . And sent out if they evan do that check

I agree 100%. In some ways I feel safer getting a refurbished product. It has gone through all types of tests that a brand new one hasn't. I had a refurbed 30gig Ipod Video, never had a problem with it, my buddy had a brand new one, it froze on him several times, and had to pay $60 for diagnostics, and it wound up being replaced with another new one (which froze up several times). I'm not saying is a refurbished is better than a brand new one, but you might have less chances of getting a lemon with a refurb.

That being said, I just bought a brand new 8gig iPhone from the AT&T store. That was only because i wanted it faster than getting it shipped, hehe. Otherwise i was eyeing up an 8gig refurbed iPhone.

Here - http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=browse&mco=252EB80C&node=home/specialdeals/iPhone I can't see 4GB. Refurbished iPhone. I have 330$ for an iPhone and case and I can't buy 8GB Refurbished one.

I have some questions:

If I buy a brand new 4GB iPhone from Apple in the USA, unlock it, and bring it to Bulgaria can I repair it(in Bulgaria) if something is wrong?

From that you said, I conclude that the Refurbished iPhone is a bit second hand, which is tested and repaird. So the Refurbished iPhone work properly and there aren't any scratches?

Are Apple have 4GB Refurbished iPhone?

No company can guarantee availabilty on refurbished products. Their availability depends on the qty of product returned.

I believe that refurbished units are only available online and I don't believe that they will ship it to Bulgaria. All repairs are done in California.
