Remembering passwords and usernames

Anyone know how to make the iPad remember passwords and usernames? It did when I first bought it and when I cleared out my cookies/website information, it cleared out all the passwords and won't remembered any longer.

I don't recall mine doing that but maybe so. I had the iPad 1 and now have the 3. If your device was lost or stolen then the owner would be very vulnerable if they hadn't activated a password. IMHO
