If i BUY something anywhere I can do what i want with it .
not a song though.
I buy songs from iTunes all the time and gosh darn it i should be able to do what i want with it since i bought it . If i want to make a ringtone and put it on my iPhone then that should be perfectly legal . i already bought the freaking song . why should i pay just to have it ring when someone calls. ringtones are fun . its cool to hear someone have a cool ringtone. NOW i think the loophole with iTunes to change an extension to m4r and have a ringtone sync with iTunes was a very smart thing someone figured out . Now Apple comes back and patches it and still you can do it with more steps . my point is . THEY ARE RINGTONES. Apple made a smart move by not having the ringtones making in iTunes come out right away because they knew it would be someone to find a way to do it. until Apple has patched all the holes they will make it available . I still think buying ringtones is crazy , a rip off . I bought the song i should do what i want, including putting it as a ringtone. Apple is trying so hard to come out with updates to make it impossible for someone to make ringtones for the iPhone. there even making itoner not work at all. Im so glad i did not pay 15 bucks for it.

right now following all those steps to make a ringtone is wasting my time . Apple just gave 100 credit now there taking away a simple loophole they forgot to patch . Apple giveith and now takith away. haha .

THEY ARE RINGTONES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. just make ringtones free !
it will save Apple a lot of time updating because the next day someone will come out with a new trick to get ringtones on the iPhone . JUST MAKE IT FREE . iPhone users will love it . ditch buying ringtones. make them free. for all .

see my problem is that i'm not so much worried about "ringtones" per say, but i would love to upload some "sounds" to my phone to use as incoming text or email alerts. why Apple would block this is insane to me. i do not want to hack my phone, but i'm growing very impatient.

It seems like a control thing to me. To what end---to make money, I suppose. I'm beginning to think Jobs and Gates are more alike each passing day.

well let's hope they offer some "alerts" as well as ringtones to sell. i'm sure they'll be lame as ever though.
