Roxio offers Crunch for iPhone (video optimization software)

Crunch looks fine, but will probably not circumvent copy protection like Handbrake or Mac The Ripper will (not that we encourage that sort of thing).
Speaking of Handbrake, I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work for iPhone. Use the iPod preset and change the image size to 480 x 320 in Picture Settings.

Yeah, I was just thinking that. Handbrake should work out just fine for the iPhone, and maybe only a small update would be necessary. It might not be perfect quality with the iPod version, but it would work until they release an iPhone version/ update. That is, if they need to.
I HAVE HANDBREAK AND THE NEW iPhone 4GB BUT STILL DOSENT WORK EVEN WHEN I CHANGE THE SCREEN SIZE. I THINK IT'S SOMTHING TO DO WITH THE NEW iTunes ITS LIKE I HAVE ALL THESE CAPABILITIES ON THE PHONE BUT NO APP SUPPORT OR WAY TO EVEN INSTALL OR UPLOAD ANYTHING WITH OUT THAT DAMN iTunes THANKS ALOT STEVE JOBS
I use HandBrake and it is great, just choose the iPod setting and change the screen size for the iPhone. After that drag it into iTunes into your iPhone playlist and you got video!
So you use the preset for iPod, but just change the Output size to 480 (width) and maintain aspect ratio?
I'm trying to convert the files with handbreak now i've changed just the width to 480 and checked the ipod settings. After thats its drag and drop to iTunes. I hope this works but the last time i changed the 320 480

No still not working its a 254mb file with 480 with and ipod video settings nothings works. I think its somthing to do with iTunes i can play the mp4 file but when it comes to transferring it to my iPhone it nothing happens
I got it to work perfectly.
First I selected the iPod preset in HandBrake - this set's the right Codecs etc, but the output screen size is to large for iPhone.
So then I went and set the output image size to 480 wide and maintain aspect ratio
Then I saved this set-up as a new Preset (Called iPhone) and ripped a DVD.
Dropped the MP4 file it produced into iTunes and the Sync'd with iPhone.
Worked perfectly - looks great on the iPhone.
