I noticed last night while holding my wifes 3gs and mine side by side that her screen color had the bluish hue of the original iPhone where as mine as the more yellow hue of the G2. there is a noticeable difference. Yes, the brightness setting are the same and the auto dim is off on both.

Which one is correct? is one not displaying properly?

Hmm....I'm looking at my screen and I don't really notice any hue while looking at it straight on. The only way notice something close to what you're describing is if I am looking at the screen with my eyes at an angle of about 15-20 degrees from the plane of the phone. When I do that it does look a little blueish, definitely not yellowish. I don't consider what I'm seeing to be anything abnormal.
Maybe what you're seeing is different than what I'm seeing, in which case someone else here or at an Apple store could help you out.

Apple implemented a "warmer" screen color to help the eyes and give better images or some junk like that. I much prefer the cooler settings of the v1.

made a Genius appointment. I think some may have misread my post. I am looking at 2 3gs. So I would think the screen color, hue, saturation, whatever would be the same.

Yes, reading over your post again, you were not very clear! ;)

I bolded the three different confusing factors. It looks like you mention the original iPhone, G2 which could be Generation 2 aka 3G and the 3G.

You're right I can see where that would be confusing, my bad. Outcome was, a swapped out display not exactly what I wanted but the color was better than my original.

Not a problem! I'm glad you got it fixed, though I'm surprised they didn't just swap the phone. If you would've told them other problems too, I'm sure they would have. ;)
