Hello all... I just found out how to remove my sim card. I have 2 questions:
-will my iPhone sim card work in any other phone?
-will any other sim card work in my iPhone?
Thanks.

No to both.

I don't believe you can use the iPhone sim in another phone and another sim wont work in it, hence the point of activation.

Thats to the best of my knowledge anyway.
Yes you can. You could have used your old sim card in your iPhone, too.

..and yes I have verified it.

Are you sure that your old SIM card (i.e. the one not activated with iPhone) works in your iPhone?

Then you must be having a pre-unlocked iPhone.:laugh2:

Yes again. I activated my Wife's iPhone with her old SIM Card and all feature work.

Unlocked has nothing to do with it since l am a Cingular (AT&T) Customer.
It's a Cingular new 3g SIM.

If it didn't work for someone, how old is you SIM?

I had updated all 3 SIM's I have back in September to the new 3g ones.

Aaah! so you used your old cingular/AT&T account. I mistook it for a non-AT&T SIM card. Yes ofcourse it works/should work.

"any other" means cingular/AT&T or SIM from other carriers?

if its the former then yes it would work, but after activating iPhone with that.
if its the latter then No, it shouldn't.

so can I take my activated SIM card from my 4GB phone and put it in an unactivated 8GB phone without problem? That would leave me with a 4GB phone and an unactivated SIM card that I could setup under another number, etc. I would like to do this in order to keep my same number/contract, but upgrade the capacity. Anyone try this?
