To answer in order:

mine was fully charges right out of the box

iTunes recognized it immediately and started the process

yes 7.3 is required (I installed this earlier today)

Didn't need to touch the old phone.. it was all behind the scenes...

No Video... just Camera

...do you have to have an account?

I had slight trouble with iTunes. I believe the reason is they have to be done in order. I first plugged in the iPhone THEN started iTunes and it synced perfectly. Give that a try.

That sucks.. I'm sorry you are having issues... worked flawlessly for me...

Have you had an iPod/iTunes previously that worked?

Yes.. if you don't have one it will set you up with one...

No credit card needed at the time either unless you plan to buy stuff on the iTunes store
ok so i don't have to set up an acct just yet...when i get the iPhone i just simply start iTunes and it'll sync up and set up..do i need to have internet connection on my desktop?

Incorrect..

if you don't have an iTunes account then it requires you to create one...

Internet Connection required

You do not have to specify a credit card at this time for the account... but if you ever plan to buy songs or video on iTunes you will need to set this up later.

is everyone who is having problems running either WinXP-Service Pack 2 or Vista? Those are the only two WinOS versions supported at this time.

I couldn't get it to install the right device driver for the iPhone first, and now iTunes keeps telling me to reinstall it because I don't have the iPhone software installed. Not smooth at all so far.

I'm an existing customer, so the whole setup and activation took a whopping 5 minutes from the time iTunes started to the time the phone was activated... surprising considering I expected servers to be swamped...

On the downside... no Ringtone Tab... :(
did you have to do anything with the email you got saying it was activated or did it just happen.
