Slider Messages

can someone tell me how to change the slider message, like slide to unlock and slide to power-off, i mean i changed mine with a simpson one right now but that was already pre-made and i just copied it with manzana, i cant figure out how to go into the springboard.app and edit hte text myself

Open the "SpringBoard.strings" file in Worpad and edit it that way. Good luck!

I just modified my "slide to unlock" to "ECS RACING". I used WinSCP and used the right side of the screen and went to the directory that SilentKilla posted. Save a copy of the original just in case u mess up and opened the file with WordPad, edit what needed to be edited then save as.

If your using a mac, download iFuntastic 3.5.5. Follow their instructions to unshackle it n stuff, then there is an option "File Manager" where u can go through your iPhone like finder.

Use the directory:/System/Library/CoreServices/SprigBoard.app/English.lproj/SpringBoard.strings

and you can edit the text right in ifuntastic (without having to put it back onto your iPhone.) Make sure u save file when your done editing the strings.

Ok well I made one with both of those messages, the only problem is that "I Solemnly Swear..." is too long, so you only see the first bit. But here it is anyway, just tell me if you want something else. SpringBoard.zip Also, I haven't uploaded a zip before, so tell me if I did it wrong or you need me to do it some other way.

Might give it a shot.

I just don't think i can edit system files like that.

Nope doesn't work, maybe with some other File editer. Would be pretty sweet if i could do it on the phone, instead of on the PC. but oh well.
