Slow 3G speeds... HELP!

I just ran a 3g test from my iPhone on testmyiPhone.com and I'm only getting speeds of 200-300kbps. Before, I was getting 1mb-1.2mb. I'm in Los Angeles by the way. Is anybody else getting slow speeds recently? I called AT&T and they told me to reset my network and did other troubleshooting but it didn't make a difference. HELP!

Have you rebooted the phone since doing the reset? If not, try that.

It didn't make a difference. I think my speeds have drastically reduced after I updated to 2.2.1 last week. What's the deal?

I can't be the only one having this problem. Can somebody who upgraded to 2.2.1 go on testmyiPhone.com and run the test please? I'm only getting 200-300kbps whereas before I was getting 1mb+.

honestly, i think you are overreacting

i just ran mine (i'm on 2.2)
download test:
wifi - 1.16 mbps and .97 mbps
3g - .33 mbps and .24 mbps


so i guess consider yourself lucky that you got those speeds before, i really haven't heard of anyone other than you claiming speeds like that.

My broadband at home is only 1mb lol, .33 is a really decent 3g speed. Pages and downloads must be working smoothly!

yah, i honestly might even have to call BS on this guys claim of 1-1.2 mbps, i have never heard of someone getting speeds like that on 3g.

I just checked my history with the Speedtest app, and my fastest 3G speeds were 1266 Kbits/s down and 326 Kbits/s up.

I can post a screen shot if you want.

interesting, where you located? i find that VERY rare people get speeds that fast on 3g, but if you are that is awesome.

I'm in Southern Utah, near Vegas. I don't test 3G often since I'm usually on WiFi, but from my six 3G speed tests in my history, 900Kbits/s is my average download and 1266Kbits/s my highest.

You're saying I'm BS'ing? I'm in LA. I was getting 1mbps all the time. I don't know where you're at, but there's no need for you to doubt me. I'm not gonna waste my time posting all this if I wasn't getting slow speeds.

There are threads all over Crackberry.com with people comparing their 3G speeds with different networks... Many of these people are getting speeds that are almost as fast as 3G rated speeds.

I'm running anywhere from about 700kbps to 1.1 in Spokane, WA...I was getting consistent 1.5-2.5 at work (Strangely enough, small town on the west coast of Washington...)
