I'm also posting some color variations of the SMS app to compliment some of the existing themes out there. You will see these changes whenever you open a text message. Hopefully someone will find these useful.

*Make sure you put the graphics in your "Modding" folder.*

To install using iPhoneInterface, input these commands:

cd /Applications/MobileSMS.app/
putfile Applications/MobileSMS.app/Default-smsanswer.png
putfile Applications/MobileSMS.app/MessageEntryBG.png
putfile Applications/MobileSMS.app/Balloon_1.png
putfile Applications/MobileSMS.app/Balloon_2.png
putfile Applications/MobileSMS.app/SendButton.png
putfile Applications/MobileSMS.app/SendButtonPressed.png

To install using ManzanaUI, drag and drop the images into this folder:

/Applications/MobileSMS.app

*******QUICK NOTE*******

You DON'T have to restart your phone in order for the changes to take effect. Just open the SMS app and you'll see your new colors. If you had the SMS app open while you were installing the new icons, just close and re-open and you'll see the changes.
************************************************** *******

ENJOY!

*****Here's a sample of a color theme. Of course they look better on the phone!******

Hmmm...I made this to match the Red Carbon theme better but when uploaded at Default-smsanswer.png , it only appears for a second with the SMS app loads. I keep running into this issue and it SUCKSSS

I know, it sucks for me too. But, if you take a look at the files for each app, they all have a "Default" image. That is the image you see when the app is loading. Some applications have another icon for the background name. Like the "Clock" app has the "Stripe Background" that you can change to whatever you want. Other apps only have an image for "default -application name.png" which we only see for a split second when the app is loading. :(

I know what you are talking about. But, unfortunately it can't be changed as of yet. Some of the files on the iPhone can't be changed. This happens to be one of them. Hopefully with all the new hacks coming out, someone will get it to change.
