So when Im at work I like to have my phone on vibrate, but the SMS vibration is too short/weak for me, the phone I can feel, but the SMS always gets missed. I have MyProfiles set up to have the ringer set to vib at work and was able to up the intensity of the vibration from there, but the only option for sms/email alert is on or off. Are there any apps that I could use for this?

The standard length of the vibration is .4 seconds
From what I have researched, there is no way to extend this outside of hacking...

If you want to go that route, iClarified has a nice tutorial: How to Make iPhone SMS Alert Vibrate Longer Using Windows
URL: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=588
(There is also a Mac version referenced on this site)

Other than that, we'll have to wait until Apple decides to include this is a future update.

dsuppa -Spent some time last night, set my SMS vibration to 4 seconds.
Here is easier and more straightforward method for Windows than that provided by iClarified.
No need to know phone ip address.

1. First, you will need two tools:
iFunBox.exe - iPhone file system browser. Download: http://www.i-funbox.com/
pledit.exe - plist file editor. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?m6iu4zwo4s3
2. Connect phone to USB cable and run iFunBox.
3. Navigate iPhone file system to folder /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework
4. Use "Copy to PC" feature to copy file SystemSoundVibrationPatterns.plist to your local PC
5. Use pledit.exe to open and edit SystemSoundVibrationPatterns.plist
6. In "<key>Default</key>" section, change the values under <key>OnDuration</key> and <key>TotalDuration</key> by the same amount.
My SMS vibration duration is 4 seconds and looks like this:
<key>Default</key>
<dict>
<key>Intensity</key>
<real>1</real>
<key>OffDuration</key>
<real>0.10000000000000001</real>
<key>OnDuration</key>
<real>4.4000000000000004</real>
<key>TotalDuration</key>
<real>4.5</real>
7. Save file, exit pledit.exe
8. Go back to iFunBox and use "Copy From PC" to upload SystemSoundVibrationPatterns.plist back to iPhone into /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework folder.
9. Exit iFunBox and reboot phone.
10. Your SMS tone will now be changed.
Side effect: If you use a PassCode lock on your phone, the "Wrong Passcode" vibration will also be extended.
