So will the iPod Touch crash too?

When someone is playing music and surfing the web? I wonder if they'd come out with a product that has a known bug of that magnitude. And if it doesn't, then they must know the fix but will they bother to implement it in our dear little devices too? Has to be one way or the other.

probably, since they don't care about fixing bugs on current iPhone, all they care are how much money they will get.

BINGO! We have a winner.

Just read a review of the Touch and yup, it crashes just like the iPhone.

My guess is that whatever firmware upgrade we get won't fix it. If they had a fix, they wouldn't have put out a new product that had the flaw. It is the single most annoying bug, to me.

Technically, yes, but not crash like a PC, it just sends you back to your home screen.
no, I mean the bug where the music just stops playing. Then u open the iPod function to restart, but the device has lost its place in the album or podcast u were listening to. So while im surfing i have to check the ipod every few minutes so that the next time it crashes (and it will) i will have a rough idea of where to go back to.

The one where the browser crashes and sends u back to the home screen is different.
Then there's the one where the spell checker just arbitrarily stops working for a while.

Or the one where u reboot the phone cause sometimes that helps calm down the iPod crashes and when u start it back up the volume is completely different (although the slider bar indicator says its the same).

Yeah, its a lil buggy. U need to do your homework if your going to buy one and not be surprised by this stuff.

If u haven't gotten your iPhone yet and u didn't read about this and other bugs then u haven't done your homework. Enjoy.

fucking crap. fucking crap is all i have to say. fucking crap is all i have to say about Apple's faulty products, which is every product really! i have owned 2 ipods and a macbook, yeah they are fine products, but fucking crap they always have something/s. it really pisses me off. Apple is like way ahead of the competition and their products make you feel like you need them, but damn did they ignore to spend money on the quality of their products. ignore me though please, i just needed to pant my anger. i am no reviewer or "expert" just an Apple consumer.

Chill dude  Your hardly making sense right now - my experience with ranting is that it didn't work for me - like when I thought you couldn't but iTunes with the rebate - big rant - didn't make me feel any better. You said yourself Apple makes fine products that are way ahead of the competition - there is a cost to that, and it sounds like your willing to pay it. Be cool lil brother - I feel ya. ;)

At the UK Media Event this morning, Steve called the iPod Touch training wheels for the iPhone. He really sounded like he never wanted the Touch at all and the only reason it was added was because people wanted it so much. If this was true, it would make sense with them cutting costs by using a cheaper screen and keeping the iPod functions exactly the same as the iPhone (nothing new added or changed).

I could be wrong but who really knows?

well that's really the point of this thread. Apparently not yet. The bugs aren't preventing them from issuing new products, with the same bugs, so that's ongoing indication of how concerned they are about fixing them. No breath holding please.
