Anytime I try to install a new program I get an error saying that some components are missing and download failed.

Any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply. We'll need some more information to help you. Is you Mac up to date? What applications are you trying to install?

Okay, post back if it doesn't work after the Lion update.

You're getting an error message when installing Lion?

What is the error message?

Have you updated your OS to the latest version? Click on the Apple (top left) and select Software Update. You may need to update to the latest version before performing other software updates. Also, are you running Snow Leopard or Leopard?

How did you get on after the software update? If you purchased your Mac a year ago it will more than likely have Snow Leopard on. I'm assuming you're trying to download and install Mac OS X Lion via the Mac App Store?

Yes. It appears I am getting all the files but they won't install for some strange reason.

If/when you take it to the Apple Store, post back here and let us know what the problem was. This could potentially help other users in the future.

It may be there was an error with the download, which is more likely with large files like Lion. Might be worth deleting and trying to redownload Lion before making a trip to the Apple store.
