Since the Edge network and Safari are slow when trying to load a page I am wondering if anyone has a site that you can get up to the minute sports scores with the iPhone?

I go to cbs.sportsline but the scores are so small and I have to wait until the page loads before I can do the two finger spread to read the print.

My little nephew, on his cell phone, goes ?somewhere? with his phone and gets the score, who is pitching, who is up to bat etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

So what did we decide on? Which "sports" sites did we find that works well with the iPhone?

Going to the albinoblacksheep site for me anyway still shows the info from two days ago.

The other site mentioned I can't even get it to work with the Safari app on my iPhone.

Still looking for a site that gives up to the minute scores for baseball and later on football.

Thanks all, you guy's are the best.

The pickleview site should work just fine for safari. That is by far the best site for baseball scores. I am not a fan of that albino site but if that's all we can find for now I guess we'll have to google scores or give programmars more time. Its only been a month!

For Baseball, wap.mlb.com/scores/index.jsp is the best one I found.

It is all text and you can get live updates with play-by-play and boxscores. It is very fast since it is all text.

pickleview.com is the best online play by play that i have used... yesterday for some stupid reason espn2 cut off the giants game and i whipped out my iPhone and we all gathered around and watched the play by play.... the coolest thing that people liked was that if you touch the little dots on the screen a little picture of the person comes up....the chatting part is cool too.......

When on edge, use google.com/m (the m being for mobile). Make sure you go to settings at the bottom of the page and turn on the "format web pages for your phone" option. then go to your favorite site using the search function, bookmark it, and you should have much faster results.....there is a video on youtube called "making edge 5 times faster" or something like that, it explains it better. Hope this helps

Dumb Question - When I try using pickleview.com - which looks great, btw- I get some annoucement that Javascript must be enabled to get updates. How is that supposed to occur on the iPhone? or am I missing the obvious?

Looks like it updates on its own so far while I watch the Giants vs. Pittsburgh.

an app for football that is similar to pickleview?
i hope so. i'm a brewers fan and they are finally in a pennant race and pickleview has made to so easy to see what other teams are doing at any time. They continue to improve it too (in its early stages it was pretty raw, but now its very stable).

"pigskinview" would be awesome.
