Well, it does work with gift cards, but for the time being, you can get one free song every day (with a purchase). They give you a paper card that looks like a gift card that has a picture of the artist of the day and the title of the song with a coupon number on the back. When you log into the iTunes store, there is an option to "redeem". Click it, type in the coupon number and you're set. Or, in my case, you get the "timed out" error, and you get no free song. After the error message, iTunes has conveniently records the one time use number, so I can't re-enter and try again.

WARNING- if you haven't read this before YOU CAN NOT REDEEM YOUR FREE MUSIC ON YOUR iPhone yet. If you try, the song will automatically download and iTunes will bill your card.

Sorry, I have been busy for the past couple of days, but i will get up photos and instructions on how to do this later tonight. It works, but you can only do it on your computer, because at the top of iTunes where it shows your username and how much you have in your iTunes account, it will show (53.46 + 2 Songs) which means you have two free song downloads, not good to buy on albums or on the iTunes wifi music store. More details to follow tonight.

Ok, here is a picture of the starbucks card that has the free iTunes downloads attached. It is called "The Starbucks Plus 2 Gift Card" and can be found at most Starbucks retail locations throughout the country. (bring the picture with you if you cant find it at your local store and ask for it.)



Once you have activated it, for at least 5 dollars, go to the website that is on the little blue sticker and register your card, it should only take 5 minutes. Once that it is done, they will give you a code for iTunes that you can use in the redeem option on the right side of the iTunes music store. Once redeemed, you can download two free iTunes songs, valued at .99 or 1.29, and they must be used by February 28th, 2008. I will post more information later on if you can add multiple cards to your starbucks account, and if you can remove current ones and add new ones, making the number of free songs, good for as many cards as you can get your hands on. Ahhh! Super sweetness! And it's any two songs of your choice? Also, the picture didn't work but I'll still ask for the "Starbucks Plus 2" one.

at the starbux ive been to the ones at the mall and the one by my house they just have the "song of the day cards" laying there just take them I don't think they care if you buy anything or not.

The starbucks cards with free 2 iTunes... the register has to activate them add money then register them on the starbucks website. Good for any song you want either 99cent one or 1.29. I saw them cards on ebay someone is selling them.

Anyone have a Bob Dylan card they are willing to give up? I don't want the song, I just want the card. I'm trying to collect every one and the first day is the only one I don't have so far...

i have 2 of the dylan cards (both unused, though i plan to redeem one of them). you can have one if you want (the one i'll leave unused). just pm where you want me to send it and i'll drop it in an envelope and mail it out tomorrow...

if you add activated cards to your registered starbucks accounts, and get the iTunes codes, and then remove them, and add others you could potentially get as many free iTunes downloads as you have activated starbucks cards. I hqe done it, and will post some pictures within the next couple of days.
