So Cal
Oh my gosh, I said I would eat all my bad words i said about Apple if Steve steps up. He will be back to class act if this is true. Maybe I didn't pick the rotten Apple after all.

I'll thank Steve for stepping up and doing something for the Early Adopters in this situation.

However, I won't forgive and forget on this one... Steve showed his true colors by his actions re: the Price Cut. Furthermore, anyone that thinks Steve would have still offered the credit if it hadn't been for the Press and Stock hits, is foolish, or delusional. I'm sure all the potential Credit Card chargebacks (which are now null and void) didn't effect his thinking at all either :p

Steve tried to pull a fast one, got his hand slapped, and is trying his hardest to get out of Time Out.

awesome, but now we get to wonder exactly what constitues 'or any other consideration' (warranty repairs/replacements) and how they'll determine who qualifies (e.g. the original buyer able to present proof of purchase such as a receipt, or the original AT&T account holder on which the iPhone was activated). no matter what, this gesture is huge in the eyes of early adopters of not just the iPhone but past and future Apple products. if/when i get mine, i know exactly what it will go towards---leopard upgrade.

great move

i believe this to be a perfect, simple solution. early adopters should have to pay a little more for having the product first, just not 1.667 times more.

i hope all the a-holes who were so high and mighty and said "that's the price of early adopting" refuse their discounts.

WOW... So they are stepping up and doing the right things. AWESOME! You don't know how impressed I am. Yes, the screwed up. Yes, they realized they screwed up and YES they want to fix it.
And you know what-- this will probably increase their sales-- because I am sure many people will actually apply that 100 dollar credit towards purchases OVER 100 dollars....

YAY!

Read my prior post. I will either NOT take the store credit or donate it to a local charity. I don't want "something for nothing" and don't expect "something for nothing" I would find it greedy if i actually went to the store and took the card for my own use because I have a lot of posts saying I was fine with the price cut.
