I have a question.
Since we can activate our phone through iTunes would need to be 18 or older to buy the phone from the store?
My situation is that I'm under 18 and initially I was going to bring my mom with me so she can sign the contract etc.
Does this mean I don't need her to come with me?
You have to have a credit card or debit card to activate the phone.
from the FAQ:
Activation
Q. How do I activate iPhone?
A. You activate iPhone in a whole new way—using iTunes right on your computer. All you need is a PC or Mac, a credit card or debit card, access to the Internet and an email address.
The credit approval for your AT&T service also happens on your computer. It’s part of activating through iTunes, but if you’d rather have your credit pre-approved before you leave the store, an AT&T store representative can help you with that.
You will also select an available plan during activation.
I think you better bring her. They might not even sell it to you if you're not 18.
Att_employee posted this in another thread:
The ONLY eligibility requirements are these:
Customer must be over 18
Customer must have a credit or debit card
Customer must have an email address
Customer must have internet access
Customer may not activate device on CRU or NBI account
It might be a good idea to bring your mom.
