streaming movies / live TV

hey guys, are there any ways to watch live tv on the iPhone? i have the new 4s through Verizon. I try using the watch espn app on breaks while at work but the apps too buggy. like 30 seconds into the video the screen goes blank and I just get audio only nad no video. are there any other things that I can do to watch tv / espn? or am i screwed?

also, are there any apps besides orb that will let me stream movies from my laptop to the iPhone 4s? i have about 40 or 50 movies in the iPhone format but don't want to store them on my phone since I only have 16 gig. i stream all my music from my laptop I was just wondering if I can do the same for movies!

Any particular reason you want to avoid Orb? It does everything you're asking for here for free (after the $10 iPhone app purchase). Live TV requires some extra hardware and setup headaches but can be done pretty cheaply.

I use AirVideo to stream videos to my iPhone. I think the app is like $3.

It's an app in the app store called cellmetv and u can watch local channels for free. It's an cool app.
