stuck in restore mode error code 1015 can someone help! Tried YouTube no help!

my sons were playing a prank on each other and changed the pass code on their iPhone 3g and forgot the new code so i put the phone in restore mode to get pass the pass code and the itune said the it could not restore because the phone was in restore mode can someone help have spent several hours on youtube on lone you name it we have tried nothing has help! Download TinyUmbrella and hit the exit recovery button in the top left corner.

If that still doesn't work, put your phone into DFU mode and restore through iTunes.

Have you tried putting the phone in DFU mode and restoring?
