I decided to wait a while and see what people thought about Synchronica before trying it. I heard a lot early-on about delays and slow/overloaded servers. But I took the plunge today and set it up. I'm just sick of the bug where items I delete on my iPhone aren't deleted from the Exchange server when I set up IMAP to Exchange on the iPhone. At least Synchronica fixes that.

Setup was easy & it seems to be working well for me. I'm wondering if there are other users out there that can chime in on how it's working for them.

I'm able to send with no error (I just hate the "sent with Synchronica..." nag message that it appends). Does it always happen to you?

I was unable to get Synchronica to work at all. After numerous e-mails with their tech support (very responsive) to ensure that all the settings were correct and ensuring that Synchronica's server could get into my firm's OWA, I still get an error stating "Unable to download mail - the user name or password for 'www.syncml.biz' is incorrect" everytime I try to get mail. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having the same problem. syncml.biz keeps saying my user name and password are wrong (they're not). I can log on late at night (eastern u.s.), i got this response from Synchronica when I sent a question

Hello Mike,

I am sorry you did not get a response from your earlier email, and thank you for your interest in Gateway, basically we are running this trial on one server and have had a huge response to the free of charge trial, capacity has been added as and when required – however as with all upgrades etc this then allows for more usage. The trial does show that the process works , however with regard to the performance when the trial is over Gateway will be offered as a hosted service through network operators and other service providers so providing the server on which Gateway is installed is not overburdened there should not a performance problem.

With regard to the cost we are currently talking to a number of service providers regarding them offering the service at the end of the trial. We will be in contact with users during the trial to provide the options for continuing with using the service after the trial has been completed.

Please feel free to come back to us with any other queries that you might have.

Thanks for that information - it kind of confirms my suspicion that their servers just couldn't handle the traffic. Once we verified all my setting were correct, Synchronica tech support just stopped e-mailing me, which made me think the problem was on their end. Of course, unless and until I can verify for myself that it works acceptably, I'm not likely to pony up any amount of money for their service - especially with the rumors that Exchange Active Sync may be coming to iPhone.
