Just wondering if there was a tethering solution as of yet. I really liked the tethering for 3.1.2 and would like to see that work-around repeated for 4 if possible.

iOS4 supports tethering, but at a pretty high cost. First, you have to give up your unlimited data plan and choose either the 200MB ($15) or 2GB ($25) data plans. Second, there is an additional fee ($20) for tethering, and usage goes against the new data plan.
Obviously is you plan on doing a couple hours of tethering a week, you will use up your data plan pretty quick. and at $45 for tethering and the 2GB data plan, that's steep!

Maybe I should be more specific. I wish to tether without changing data plans. I only do incidental tethering, I won't pay twice for what I already have.

Just looking for a tethering solution. I really don't need MyWi or a hotspot type solution. Just looking for a USB tether to get online from my laptop on the one or two days a month that it comes in handy to see a larger screen and I'm not near wifi.
Just an update on the tethering for iOS4. There is a new MyWi 4.0 out that just hit Cydia couple hours ago. This seems to be the tethering solution, but it's not cheap - $20.
There is also a hack-around that is said to work here. I don't like it as it's not a permanent solution.
So I guess these are the current options.

i remember when JB apps were free accepting donations... seems to be about like getting ripped off if you buy drugs who are you going to complain to :-þ
Lets wait and see... current users may get it free. It says its per individual phone but I used it on 2 different phones and didn't get charged.
To the OP I understood what you were asking...We had a tethered solution last summer that didn't require jail breaking, because I used it. It was from Benm site if I remember correctly. I don't expect that to happen again.
The MyWi even at $20 is a steal! I'm waiting patiently for the JB. We want them to have most of the Cydia store working anyhow..that may take a while. 3G unrestricter is working along with SBS settings and some others, Winterboard wasn't ready yet.
Thanks bro. And I agree that $20 is an OK price-point compared to the ATT solution. I just liked the Benm solution as it was short, sweet and cheap.
