Tethering to a palm or Mac

I just ordered my iPhone, but, I am addicted to slingbox and the NFL. Has anyone been able to tether a Palm TX or mac to a iPhone? I am trying to use Slingplayer.

These guys have it working but it looks like a lot of work.
